Blog I Love: The Burning House

The Burning House, created by Foster Huntington, is a blog where individuals from all over the world can post photos and lists of what they would bring with them if their house was on fire. Here is the full premise:

"If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It's a conflict between what's practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities. Think of it as an interview condensed into one question."

It definitely made me start thinking about what I would take with me if I were in that situation. I think I will build my own Burning House photo and list and share it with you.

What would you take with you?

Here are a few interesting photos from The Burning House....I love how each photo is it's own little piece of art:

All photos from The Burning House.

The Burning House also teamed up with Anthropologie on their Anthropologist site to create a generational response to the Burning House question. Among the 20 contributors, their ages ranged from 10 to 91. It is really interesting too see how each generation handles this question. Check it out here.

Frances Bean Cobain

Like many people my age, I went through a serious Nirvana and Hole stage in junior high. Yes, I became a fan just after Kurt died but hey, I was only 12 at the time. I plastered my walls with Nirvana and Hole posters and pictures of Kurt, Courtenay and sometimes them with their adorable baby girl, Frances Bean Cobain. Now, that baby girl is all grown up and is quite a stunner. She really is a beautiful blend of both parents. Check out this awesomely raw and edgy photo shoot Hedi Slimane recently did with Frances Bean.

Fashion Fab or Fail: Super-Sparkle Sneakers

I am not sure how I feel about Miu Miu's new glittery sneakers. Essentially, they are a Chuck Taylor knock-off absolutely coated with garish sparkles, rhinestones and metallic studs. Are they so over-the-top that they are awesome, or do they just look like something terrible that you would find in the children's section at Walmart? What would you wear them with??
