Oscars 2011!

Well, it may not have been the most exciting Oscars, but many stars came dressed to impress. Here are my favorites...

Probably, my most favorite of the night! The colour, the cut and her hair were perfect. Mila Kunis in Elie Saab.

Natalie Portman looking radiant in this gorgeous eggplant Rodarte gown.

Reese Witherspoon looking classically beautiful in Giorgio Armani Prive.

Jennifer Lawrence cleans up beautifully in her sleek and sexy Calvin Klein dress.

This dress would have been so much better without the jewelry. However, on it's own the dress is fabulous. Amy Adams in sapphire blue L'Wren Scott.

Scarlett Johansson's magenta lace Dolce & Gabbana gown made many worst dressed lists. However, the more I look at it, the more I love it. I think the silhouette and colour are gorgeous. I also LOVE the sexy cut out back.

Wife of Matthew McConaughey, Camila Alves looking stunning in a simple black Kaufman Franco ballgown.

Helen Mirran radiates elegance as usual. On the red carpet in dark gray Vivienne Westwood.

Hailee Steinfeld looking so pretty and age appropriate in nude Marchesa.

Most surprising in my list is Celine Dion. She looked fantastic in her cream coloured Armani Prive dress.

And last, but certainly not least, Ms. Anne Hathaway in her bevy of beautiful gowns (and one hot suit!):

Look I Love

This pretty yellow coat is a great transition piece from Winter to Spring.
(As seen on The Style Scout)

The outfit and especially the beret is great and I covet her beautiful long locks. I am tempted to cut my bangs again.

A Favorite of the Season

This is one of the most beautiful looks that I have seen this awards season. Mila Kunis looks stunning in her flowing gown. I like how she strayed from the norm by wearing a pattern.

I can't wait for the Oscars!

Sooooo excited!

I just got tickets for Will and I to see The Black Keys in Vancouver on June 27th!!

Look I Love

Love the red, black and white combo...always a classic and always stylish. The gal in the photo is blogger and stylish chicky Peony (love that name!) Lim. Her blog is kinda rad...check it out.

Grammys 2011

I must admit that I did not watch all of the Grammy Award's show. I think it is probably one of my least favorite awards shows as I often find a lot of it to be pretty contrived and not representative of much of my own musical tastes. However, I actually wish that I had caught more of it this year and will have to see if I can find some of the performances online. I was impressed to see that many of my favorites were among those present and/or performing.

Here are a few favorites:

Katy Perry looking so cute and festive for Valentine's Day.

Jonelle Monae performing.

Rhianna performing with Eminem. This is a jaw-droppingly gorgeous dress!

One of my favorite little weirdos, Lady Gaga.

Mumford and Sons performing.

John Mayer, Norah Jones and Keith Urban performing Dolly Parton's hit "Jolene". I am not a country fan, but this is an amazing song. Norah Jones looks adorable.

Florence Welch arriving in an interesting gown and performing in the Aretha Franklin tribute. I would have loved to have seen her perform her own music.

My personal highlight of the night...seeing Arcade Fire perform "Month of May", win the Grammy for Best Album and then watching them perform "Ready to Start". During their final performance of the night, you could just tell that the whole band was bouncing off the walls with excitement after winning the Grammy's highest honours.

The red carpet was utterly disappointing and I think the men really outdid the women this year. Honourable Mentions from the red carpet:

I must say that Vampire Weekend are a group of stylish young men.

Mumford and Sons also looking awesome.

Jennifer Lopez looks hot in her short and sassy dress.

Janelle Monae rocking her signature androgynous style. I love the added sparkle to give it a slightly more feminine touch.

Gorgeous Home

This classy home was recently posted on Apartment Therapy. The home owner, Christa Pirl has done a beautiful job of blending traditional and modern. I have previously declared my love for modernized antique sofas before and this one is no exception. I also love the wallpaper choice in the dining room and the colours used in the bedroom.

Check it out:

Valentine's Love Fort

I am seriously tempted to build one of these tomorrow! I think this would be a fun project any time of the year.

Cards for your Valentine!

There are so many different Valentine's Day cards out there that one could certainly get overwhelmed. Typically, I lean towards either making my own or choosing one with a simple message of love and a beautiful design. With sites such as Etsy and The Graphics Fairy, their are now so many options beyond your typical card store choices. Here a few different styles to get you thinking about the type of card that you might get your Valentine:
