Michelle Pfeiffer in Grease 2

So, I (Jill) will take full credit for this post. I admittedly love the 1982 musical Grease 2 in all its cheesey glory. Yes, it is a musical. Yes, it is not nearly as recognized as the original...Will had never even heard of it! But ever since I saw at for the first time when I was about eight years old, I have loved it. Michelle Pfeiffer was so badass and ultimately cool while Maxwell Caulfield was undeniably dreamy (especially when I was eight). However, upon viewing it again tonight, I noticed how awesome Michelle Pfeiffer's character Stefanie's style is. I am seriously coveting her heavy bangs and rockin' clothing and accessories. Unfortunately I can't find stills of all of her fantastic outfits so you may just have to watch the film ;) ~Jill

Furniture for thought

I (Will) am currently spending my daylight hours working for Nood Furniture and Design. One of our primary products is high quality replicas of mid century modern contemporary furniture. We currently have a replica of an Eames Lounger and ottoman, which is am thinking about acquiring. Here is a pic of the replica, and the original. I don't think you could tell the difference, personally.

A Lamborghini for the whole family! And it's Green!

From The Huffington Post, via Wired:

Lamborghini Hybrid? The Estoque could be one!

Wired reports that Lamborghini's new 4-seater, the "Estoque," could, in a first for the legendary company, actually be a hybrid:

That's right, a hybrid. The company that last spring said it couldn't possibly meet Europe's tightening emissions rules may jump on the gas-electric bandwagon with a car it's been saying "is not just a new Lamborghini. It's a whole new world." Sant'Agata insists the car is just a concept at this point -- though everything it says suggests the car will be built -- but makes it clear it takes the company in a new direction.

"It is a concept that provides a clear indication of the future," the company says. "This applies to the new, elegant self-confidence of the lines themselves, but even more to the concept of the vehicle."

Chic Centerpiece

I found this festive centerpiece on coco + kelly (http://cocokelley.blogspot.com/). I really like the use of the jewel tones with the red flowers...it is a nice departure from typical Christmas colours. I think I am going to attempt something similar to this on our coffee table at home for the Christmas season. ~Jill

DJing a retrospective

Here is a brief review of what I did when I turned 19, and for the year or two after that, at least what of it I can remember. I had already discovered electronic music, and then decided I thought becoming a DJ would be the next logical step. I bought records, practiced lots, and became a resident at a club. Everything after that is a little hazy. Fast-forward a year or so. I have now grown tired of sleeping little and drinking lots (lots). I leave the club scene and put it all behind me. Now, I may have grown out of the all night benders, but there was still a little part of me that loved playing music for a crowd. 4 years later: I am now back working in a nightclub a few nights a week, but this time with a lot less booze, and surprisingly, a fair bit more sleep. The club I work for decided to hold a DJ competition over the course of a few months to pick out a new resident Dj to play a weekly show. Now, I have no interest in becoming a working Dj again, but I thought it would be fun to dust off some of my old records, spend a bit of time searching out some good new music, and see if I could still throw down some tunes for a crowd. After a few stiff drinks to get my nerves down, I took to the stage and had a great time getting the dancfloor going and by and large, getting pretty damn funky.
Fun times

New Jewels from Jill

Quail Earrings
(Shoulder-Length earrings, feathers, and swarovski crystals)

Inspired by Nature Necklace
(Sterling silver chain, smokey quartz pendant, garnet stones, clear quartz, and smokey quartz balls)

Purple Honey Necklace
(Sterling silver chain, amethyst stones, citrine stones, smokey quartz, clear quartz, and swarovski crystals)

The feathered earrings are something I made myself a couple weeks ago. I love them and wear them often.

I just learned how to make chain jewelry so I figured I would show some of it off. Both necklaces are intended to be gifts for women older then myself. I plan to make myself something soon and will post pictures when it is done.

Let me know what you think. ~Jill
